Hello everyone! Well, another great week has passed. We had a great service on Sunday and the classes are going so well. We had to schedule a Monday night class as well so that we could get everyone in them. So, we have a Monday class and a Wednesday class for two separate groups of people. And they are so excited about learning more of the Word. It's great to experience.
I wanted to just share a word of encouragement with you today.
Have you ever come to a point in your life where you woke up and thought to yourself, “How did I get here?” You begin wondering how you arrived at the place in life where you find yourself now. Life is all about choices and decisions. The choices and decisions we made yesterday have brought us to the place we are today.
Every day, we are faced with a choice. Whether it involves our home, finances, marriage, or career, we find ourselves making decisions, no matter how big or small. The big, life-altering decisions we pay close and careful attention to, taking every precaution to investigate, weighing out the options and even seeking counsel on. Those, we are sure to do everything in our power to make certain we have the necessary facts to make an intelligent decision.
The ones that I’m more interested in are the small, seemingly insignificant choices; the ones that seem to really have no bearing on our future or effect on our lives. But, those are the ones that have the greatest effect in our lives over the long term. See, every step we take in life needs to be a conscious step so that we are not just letting life pass by while we float along in it.
Wherever you are in life today, it is because of the choices you’ve made in your past. We reach a point in life, where we can no longer blame our parents, or the way we were raised, where we came from, what we had or didn’t have. We all eventually reach a place in life where we must stand up and take responsibility for our own lives. Now, I know there are circumstances and things that come against people, I understand that. Sometimes there are terrible things that people have gone through and had to endure that they, in no way, deserved or brought on themselves. Those are unfortunate. But what I’m here to declare is, there is hope! There is a way to change those unfortunate things and begin on a path to the great life God has planned for each and every one of us.
The Bible says in Deuteronomy 30:19, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life!” It’s really up to you how you spend your life. You have to make the decision to get up and live every day with purpose and learn to make the right choices. Make the decision today to choose life! God has a great and abundant life for you!
Living Life on Purpose,
Pastor Rick
Wow...That is REALLY powerful! I think I know someone right now who can really use this word of encouragement. So Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pastor, I really needed to hear that. It remind me of a story a pastor in San Jose told me about facing our lions. The Lord want us to elevate to the next level, but in order for Him to have full reign in us, we have to take care of those things (lions) that are holding us back. Face our lions, and with his help, he'll get us through it.
