Reinforcements have arrived!

Some of you have been asking about the Gannaways...well after a long, tiring journey, they arrived in Nashville on Friday. It was so good to see them again. Now they are just busy getting settled and adjusting. They said Nashville was much bigger than they thought but they they seem to like what they've seen so far.

We had a good time celebrating Angelas birthday last night. Made lots of noise playing "Catch Phrase". I think our neighbors were wondering what the crazy people downstairs were doing. Anyway, Happy Birthday Angela! (Still soooo young...)

Continue to keep us in your prayers. We miss all of you so much!

Oh by the way, did I tell you that I love and miss these kids like crazy! If you see them, give them lots of love for me! They are the best!

"License please..."

I guess it's official! We had to get our Tennessee drivers license. We thought the DMV experience might be different here but no, it's the same! Same long lines, waiting in line to get a number so you can wait in line to get to the counter so you can then wait in another line to get your picture taken so you can then wait in another line to pick up your license! Exhausting! Anyway, it's for sure...we're here! Tennessee drivers license and all.

We hope you all had a happy Easter! I love this time of year. It's like a fresh new time, the beginning of spring. It makes me want to get busy planting flowers! Rick just says, "No, please, don't!" It his effort to save the flowers from a long slow death. I guess they need a little thing called "water"?

Anyway, we spent Easter with Rick's parents and Mike, Angela and Alex. We had a good time. Of course, we had the easter egg hunt for Alex. We did miss our Fresno family so much and the gang we usually hang out with on Easter.

Ashley's motto is that you are never too old for these holidays. I think it's mostly the holidays associated with any type of gifts! She couldn't stand not coloring Easter eggs so she had to "help" Alex. Of course, she did get her usual basket from the "Easter Bunny"! What have we done????

As far as the church goes, we are just waiting on our insurance paperwork to be finalized. We have to have that in hand when we apply for the school. Once that goes through, we are set to go! Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement. It means the world to us. As time goes on, we miss all of you even more. We love you!

Hello from Rick

Hello everyone. We thought it would be fun to get Rick on the other side of the camera to let him say hello since we all know he doesn't text or blog (except to tell me what to blog!) So here's a special video hello!

And what video would be complete without the bloopers to go along with it!

TAKE ONE!!!

TAKE TWO!!!

TAKE THREE!!!

Well, that was fun! Have a great day! We'll talk again soon. Love you all!

Just a little hello!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to take a few minutes to check in and say hello. Everything's going well...things are picking up for us as we prepare to launch services here. We don't have the launch date as of yet as we are waiting for things to finalize but we will let you know as soon as it's confirmed! We are getting close though. There's just A LOT to get done. It's all good though.

Ashley and Travis enjoyed a concert last night downtown in the Sommet Center. Several groups were there...Mercy Me, Skillet, Barlow Girl, New Song, Mandisa, just to name a few. They went with a few friends they've met and had a great time. We're so proud of them. They've adjusted well and are really enjoying life here!

This is a picture of the AT&T building in downtown Nashville. You know the city when you see this in the skyline! Otherwise known as "The Bat Building". Looks like something out of Gotham City. The second one is the tower at the Sommet Center. I thought Ashley took a pretty cool shot!

Anyway, just a little peek in the personal stuff. We love you all and miss you! See you back here soon!

Hurry up and wait!

Hello again! Sorry it's been a few days since we've posted...we've been bad bloggers! Just to give an update, it looks like we may be starting services sooner than we expected. The plan of using the clubhouse here at the apartment complex was great except that they are renovating it and it won't be available for a month! Well, we can't just sit for a month so we are looking at just stepping out and taking the plunge into starting church services. We really believe this is the direction God is taking us. We have been searching for a meeting place, schools, community centers, etc. We are just praying for direction on the right location. We are getting our inventory lists together for all the equipment we're going to need, promotions, printed materials, etc..everything we're going to need to get started. We feel like we're in a hurry up and wait situation. We're doing everything we can to get this moving however some of the things just take a little time to process. Of course, Rick is walking a hole in the carpet from pacing so much...he's ready to just do something!!! It's very exciting right now and very sobering as well. We know this is a huge responsibility God has placed on us and we are doing our best to follow his lead with every step we take. Your prayers mean more to us than you know right now. Thank you.

On another note, we were surprised last week with the biggest snowfall Nashville's seen in about five years. And they haven't had snow in March since 1996! Ashley and Sheri just know that God did it just for them! It was great. Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what we got.

And I just have to share these pictures of our little Alex. He had so much fun in the snow (of course, I think Mike & Angela had just as much fun since they were the ones making the snowman while Alex was inside watching from the patio door!)

Well, we'll close for now. We won't wait so long before our next post! Stay in touch and keep us in your prayers! We love you!

Sights of our new city!

We've had many of you ask what it is like here. So, we thought we'd share a few pictures of some of the places we've seen in Nashville so far. We have, of course, beautiful mountains and trees but also a beautiful city life. Hope you enjoy just a few of the pictures we've taken. We just wanted to let you share in our new home city.

We'll keep you posted with more updates and fun stuff so check back soon! Love you all!
