Our First Child Dedications!

What an exciting day it was for us! We had our first child dedication service. We had six children who had never been dedicated. It was such a wonderful experience to be able to stand back and look at these families that God has brought into this church who are making the committment to raise their children up in the things of God. We thought we'd share a few pictures with you so you could be a part of what God is doing.
Isn't this just so touching? Just the sincerity in what these parents are doing really moved me.

Sneakin' a kiss from Mommy!

I just love the look on this little guy's face, like, "Oh, no here he comes!"

The kids loved their new Bibles!

We caught Camden on the steps after service was over, reading his Bible. Just had to sneak some pictures when he wasn't watching.....
Then he decided he wanted to preach!
He's got his Bible in his hand but he's moving it so fast it blurred in the picture!
This is Chandler. He really does want to be a preacher. He kept telling his mom after church that he wanted a picture of just him and Pastor Rick. Rick teases him all the time about him taking his job. Chandler just smiles and shakes his head "yes".
And then, we have Camden. Rick wanted a picture with him but you have to be lightning fast to get him to sit still for a second. He was wiggling so fast Rick could hardly hold on to him. This little guy is a quite a character!
Tally wasn't dedicated today but she came running up to Rick during pictures and gave him the biggest hug. Melted his heart! She's a sweet girl.
And this family......I had to include this because first of all, it just came out so good! But the real thing is that taking pictures of them reminded me of taking pictures of my sisters family. Yes, the Egles! You do not know how many outtakes and blooper pictures it took just to get this one great picture! Kristi's family is the same exact way! It was so much fun watching these boys while April was trying to get them to be still long enough and smile, and put down those bunny ears! Made me miss my family even more!

  2. Two things I just LOVE ... child dedications and baptisms. It's the hopefulness of new starts with God. The beginning or a new or renewed life in Him. We still have Lauren's bible she received when she was dedicated at Celebration. Thanks for reminding me of that special day and bringing back tender memories.

  3. Oh, my gosh, there are so many of these pictures that I absolutely love! I love the one of Chris and Rachel, and then the one of Zeke's face as your husband was approaching him, then, there's the one of the Haney family looking at their certificates, then Camden reading the bible, then the Green boys reading their bibles, then the whole Green family! Great post!!! It's so exciting that we've already had our first child dedications!

  4. How exciting! It's a milestone for sure. The children look so cute busting out their Bibles. I'm so happy your church is growing and that people are getting committed.
