Big weekend ahead....

Yes, we're still here! We're busy preparing for a big weekend ahead of us! This Sunday we will be having our first Resonate service! We're so excited. We've been planning and preparing since January. We are releasing our faith for some great things!

We've also been busy with some very special visitors we had come in this week! We're so happy to have Rich, Jan and Jared here. We're having a great time getting caught up and just spending some fun time together.

So, we'll definitely be back after Sunday. Please be in prayer for us this weekend.

Spring is here!

Finally getting a little relief from the cold! The trees are in full bloom and they are beautiful. The weather here is so different than what we're used to. We've had a full winter. We had a spring tease which is typical of Nashville from what we hear. There is usually a week of beautiful spring weather, 70-80 degrees that teases you into thinking that it's here, then it's followed by a week of freezing. So we wait to plant flowers or plan anything outside! I love this time of year though. Everywhere you drive there are dogwood trees in full bloom providing bursts of color all over the landscapes. We're loving the experience of all four true seasons. Just our little tidbit of the day from the Twings. Have a great weekend!

GatewayLife.cc is finally live!

We finally have Gateway Life Church website up and running. It has been a big job but thank goodness it's launched! It is still a work in progress and we will still be adding pages and content in the days and weeks to come. We know this is another avenue to bring people in. We've already had some great feedback. Check it out!

Resonate

We are so excited to finally share with you something we have had in the works for some time now. It is our Sunday night service we are calling "Resonate". We so believe that this is a vital element to the personality and DNA of our ministry. We are stirred about what God is going to do and there is so much expectation right now.

Our first Resonate service is Sunday, March 29th. We've had postcards printed, invitations are going out and everyone is inviting people to come. Our printer even got so excited about it just after seeing the postcards that he kept a few for himself and is planning on bringing his whole family. God is so good!

When we began to feel God stirring us about starting what will eventually become our monthly Sunday night services, we began to really pray and seek Him about an identity for the service that would speak about our personality, our vision, and our target for that night. We have had in our spirits for some time a stirring about the sound that God is wanting released in this territory. That sound will "resonate" throughout this territory. That means the sound will go on and on as in echoing and in intensity. We knew that was it, "Resonate...Releasing the Sound". We knew that was the identifying mark God had spoke for this service.

The funny thing was this, it wasn't until a week or so later that God brought back to our memory a word that Damon Thompson had spoke over Rick several years ago. This was long before Clovis opened and God Encounter was still in Fresno. He said to Rick, "There is a sound in you that has yet to be released, a sound that the world has yet to hear..." He went on and spoke a few more things after that but what was brought back to our remembrance really was about "the sound". That was just a confirmation for us.

We can't explain what's going on right now. There is such a stirring, such an expectancy.... something is happening. We are on the edge of our seats, figuratively speaking, just waiting to see what God is up to!

Please continue to pray for us. Your prayers mean everything to us right now! We are still in the fight of pushing and pressing through the obstacles the enemy puts in the way when you're doing something like this. But we are determined and full of vision and passion. Just knowing we have the support of family and friends means so much to us, as we are continuing to plow ground and pioneer this work that God has called us to.

We love and miss you all!

Vision Night

Last night, we interrupted our regular classes to have Vision Night. We are constantly sharing vision and pouring that into people but we wanted to have a night that was specifically targeted to share vision and direction about where Gateway Life is headed.

We were thrilled with the outcome. People are really beginning to grab a hold of the vision and RUN with it. We had our Life Force (volunteers) applications ready to go. We took the night to share what our vision is for this ministry, where we are headed and how we're going to get there. At least for how we know it today. Ministry is always changing and evolving so you can't marry one method or path. As things grow and develop, God is always showing you new ways to evolve and grow with it.

Right now there is so much expectation stirring. We know we are on the verge of something. One of our visitors on Sunday said it just right. She said she has been attending another church but she just needs something more, something deeper, something real. We know God is bringing in the right people for this house and we are so excited about that.

Love and miss you all. Thank you for your continued prayers!

Our First Child Dedications!

What an exciting day it was for us! We had our first child dedication service. We had six children who had never been dedicated. It was such a wonderful experience to be able to stand back and look at these families that God has brought into this church who are making the committment to raise their children up in the things of God. We thought we'd share a few pictures with you so you could be a part of what God is doing.
Isn't this just so touching? Just the sincerity in what these parents are doing really moved me.

Sneakin' a kiss from Mommy!

I just love the look on this little guy's face, like, "Oh, no here he comes!"

The kids loved their new Bibles!

We caught Camden on the steps after service was over, reading his Bible. Just had to sneak some pictures when he wasn't watching.....
Then he decided he wanted to preach!
He's got his Bible in his hand but he's moving it so fast it blurred in the picture!
This is Chandler. He really does want to be a preacher. He kept telling his mom after church that he wanted a picture of just him and Pastor Rick. Rick teases him all the time about him taking his job. Chandler just smiles and shakes his head "yes".
And then, we have Camden. Rick wanted a picture with him but you have to be lightning fast to get him to sit still for a second. He was wiggling so fast Rick could hardly hold on to him. This little guy is a quite a character!
Tally wasn't dedicated today but she came running up to Rick during pictures and gave him the biggest hug. Melted his heart! She's a sweet girl.
And this family......I had to include this because first of all, it just came out so good! But the real thing is that taking pictures of them reminded me of taking pictures of my sisters family. Yes, the Egles! You do not know how many outtakes and blooper pictures it took just to get this one great picture! Kristi's family is the same exact way! It was so much fun watching these boys while April was trying to get them to be still long enough and smile, and put down those bunny ears! Made me miss my family even more!

Go Shine!

LOVE THESE GIRLS!!!

I'm so proud of our Shine! Today she is at Disneyland for the National Cheer Competition. Shine, we are rooting for you girl! I wish I was there to cheer you on....you know I'd be yelling and screamin' and embarrassing you all over the place! I know you're going to do awesome....I've seen you cheer and you're a natural. We're thinking of you today and you better call us as soon as it's over to let us know how you did! Love you girl!
This is Rio Vista's competition team. They won this at a previous competition.
Isn't Shine the cutest? Not that I'm partial or anything.........
Just wanted to show our support for our Shine today! We miss you so much.

I did get an update on how things are going but I can't share it because my sister would kill me. She might already for me sharing this but oh well....we wanted Shine to know we're proud of her today, no matter what happens!
