In honor of Jonathan

It is with a heavy heart that we post today. It hasn't been until now that we could even get past the numbness that we have felt since early yesterday. You see, it was yesterday we learned that a dear friend had passed away. We can't even begin to describe the shock we have felt, as all of you who knew him, have experienced as well.

It was yesterday we learned that our friend, Pastor Jonathan Burgess had passed away. We had the priviledge of serving on staff with Pastors Jon and Corina at Celebration for several years. We were not only associates working together but we were friends. We spent many holidays together, went camping together, family parties and more. Jonathan was such a wonderful person. He and Corina were always so much fun to be around. At gatherings, Corina and I would usually find Jonathan and Rick off talking somewhere when they went missing. He was a man of God and a wonderful husband and father.

While there are so many unanswered questions and so many emotions, what we need to do at this time is pray and support Corina, Lance, Taylor and Riley. The mysteries belong to God and while we are all grieving for our loss here on earth, we do hold on to the promise of seeing Jon again. We are rejoicing that Jon is somewhere in heaven, sitting at the feet of Jesus (probably vacuuming the streets of gold!) but he is in the presence of God.

Corina and family, we love you and are praying for you all continuously. We honor Jon for his life of character and integrity. We are honored to say we knew him and we are blessed that we had the opportunity to have him in our lives.

Jon, we love you and you will be missed

A week of hard work and transformation!

This has been the most amazing week! It's been a week of hard work and long hours! But it's been great! We actually took possession of our new facility on Monday and everyone has been going strong ever since.

Last Sunday....our last time pulling three, yes three, trailers of equipment!

The last time for the "Road Crew" to be setting up and tearing down in the school.

Then we took the team on a sneak peek tour of our new building. It was in rough shape and needed a lot of cleaning and improvements to make it our personality! But we're up for the challenge!
Outside tour, listening to instructions and ideas from Pastor Rick.

Then on Monday the real work began.
CLEANING!

CLEANING,
(I'm so glad my Mom's finally here with us, even though she'll kill me for this picture....she was busy...cleaning!)

And more cleaning!

Working's always more fun with people you like!
King of the vaccuum!!!
Getting sound ready for Tuesday night Amplifyed service.

And in the midst of everyone's hard work, some of the team had it in their hearts to make sure Pastor Rick had an office to work out of.....
So they set him up!
And did they ever!
Still not totally sure who started this but I think their names start with a "Jared" and a "Justin"!
Way to go guys.....the little lambs add a really nice touch!

Alyssa getting down on cleaning walls!
Pastor Rick stopping in to say hi to some of the children's workers cleaning and prepping classrooms.
And on Wednesday, painting started! The entire sanctuary and lobby area.Yeah....he's still got it!

And the kids have to get in the action!
