Gateway Life Church opens it doors on Sunday, May 18th!

Yes, we have a date! We are so excited about getting started and have such a peace about what God has called us to do here. We love, love, love the area he's brought us to. We are blessed that He chose us! Please keep us in your prayers.

BLOOPERS AND OUTTAKES!
Ok, a couple of days ago, we made so many attempts to get this video done to post on the blog and I (Sheri) must have been feeling a little "punchy" because no matter what we did, I just couldn't seem to get it! We never actually got anything worth posting but Rick MADE me put these on the blog since I showed his bloopers. He used the reason on me that I gave him, "Because it makes you real, people see the real you!" Don't you just hate it when someone turns around and uses your stuff on you! Oh well, you gotta laugh at yourself sometimes! Haha......watch out your own risk.

Ok, on this one, Ashley was laughing at us, saying we looked like we were doing a newscast....so I was pretending to read the que cards....I know....silly!








Needless to say, by the time we got done with all of this, Rick was ready to ring my neck and kick me back to California!!! Anyway, just thought we'd let you in on a little fun we were having....

Wow it's been a while!

Ok, so we've been bad bloggers...it's been a while. Many of you know Rick had returned to Fresno for a few days to wrap up some loose ends and pick up the last vehicle we had there. We missed him here at home! He had a great time seeing everyone and getting caught up with friends and family. But he's home now (thank goodness!)

Anything worth having is going to be a fight, right? Well, it seems we hit a brick wall with the school we were trying to use. For a couple weeks now we've not been able to get a response from the principal on using that particular school. So, yesterday, we were talking and we decided that when you hit a brick wall you have a choice to make. You either keep hitting it or you go around it, over it or just knock it down! The resistance made us even more determined that we were not going to be stopped. So, we took some time, got in the truck and drove. We knew that God had something for us. The right place. We happened to be driving and found a new area of Bellevue that we hadn't even looked at before. Drove right past an elementary school, walked in, saw the principal immediately. She welcomed us into her office, told us to look around the school, anywhere we wanted to go. She was more than willing to let us use the school for services. We took the paperwork back to her yesterday afternoon, and she called us this morning with it signed! Amazing! What we weren't able to get done in three weeks, was accomplished in less than a day. This is an even better location. The area is newer and the school is newer. The principal shared with us that this area is one of the fastest growing areas and they are expecting a huge increase in the school next year because of all the growth!

God is good! Keep us in your prayers as we continue the process. We'll be back shortly with another update, so please come back soon!

Happy Birthday, Princess!

Today's a special day for us! Our "baby" turns 19! When did that happen? I remember my mom telling me when she was little, "Just enjoy it because before you know it she'll be grown!" and I remember just saying, "Yeah, yeah..." thinking that it would be forever! Forever sure didn't take as long as I thought!












We just want to say Happy Birthday to our wonderful daughter. Ashley, we are so proud of you and of the beautiful young woman you have become. You have done nothing but bring us joy and have honored us in every way. We know that you have great things ahead of you. We're so glad you're on this crazy ride with us! We love you, baby!












P.S. Happy Birthday also to Jan Ferguson, Connie Beato, Matt Almaguer and Wyatt Lykins! You all share the same day! Eat cake and open presents!

Checking out the school!

Hi everyone. We were able to take the team on a tour of the school today. It was a great time for everyone to see it and begin to plan, take measurements, etc. It's amazing to actually see all of this unfolding after months of planning and preparation. Some kept saying, "I can't believe we're actually here and doing this...we've been talking about it but now it's finally here!" It's quite amazing to be on this journey. God's faithfulness is unfolding more and more. We can't wait to see what he has in store here! Thank you for your continued prayer, encouragement and support. We love you all and are thrilled to have you a part!

Our First Team Mtg!

Well, we had our first team meeting tonight! We pulled everyone together to share vision, encourage and just gameplan. It was a great time. This team is going to work well together! We feel so blessed that God has brought such great people alongside us to help pull something great up out of the ground. Everyone is stirred with excitement and anticipation. Please continue to pray for us as we near our start date.

We just wanted to say congratulations to Matt and Jodie! Kristi sent us a text picture of your new baby girl! She is absolutely beautiful. How blessed you are to have two beautiful angels!

I know this is short and sweet but we just wanted to take a few moments to check in and say hello again. We think of you all often and miss you greatly!

Ok, so my sister was feeling a little neglected because "she doesn't have any pictures on our blog". Haha (I told you Kris, you'd be sorry!) Anyway, yes we do love and miss Kristi and Hugo too! Kris, I miss my best friend and partner in fun! So here's a few pics just for you T!

We have another update on church services. Everything is pretty well finalized and ready to submit the request for the school. They are sure it's not going to be a problem so hopefully we should have our launch date set sometime next week. In the meantime, we are working on our printed materials, visitor cards, welcome brochures, etc. Lots of work! Where's Pastor Jeff when I need him????? JK. All is going well. We'll have another update soon!
